Creating and managing agents
Create, open, and delete agents in your team, and find your way around an agent's pages.
An agent is an AI assistant that belongs to your team. Each agent has its own instructions, knowledge, deployments, leads, and settings. You might have one agent for customer support and another for sales.
Create an agent
Open Agents
Start a new agent
Complete setup
Add knowledge, set the identity and appearance, then publish. See Create Your First Agent for each step.
Agent limits
The number of agents you can create depends on your plan. When you reach it, the Agents page shows Agent limit reached. To create more, upgrade your plan or add extra agents as an add-on. See Plans and Pricing.
Inside an agent
Select an agent and select Open to manage it. Its sidebar has these pages. Select Activity or Build to open or close that group:
| Page | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Overview | Usage, deployments, recent conversations, and anything that needs attention. |
| Playground | Test the agent. See Playground. |
| Activity > Logs | Every conversation the agent has had. See Managing Conversations. |
| Activity > Analytics | How the agent is performing. See Agent Analytics. |
| Build > Knowledge | What the agent learns from. See Knowledge. |
| Activity > Leads | Contact details collected in conversations. See Managing Leads. |
| Activity > Contacts | People who’ve talked to the agent. See Managing Contacts. |
| Build > Integrations | Connections to other tools, such as Slack. See Integrations. |
| Build > Actions | Things the agent can do, such as collect leads. See Actions. |
| Build > Widgets | Interactive cards shown by Custom API actions or a widget’s When to show condition. See Widgets. |
| Build > API connections | Shared API endpoints and credentials for Custom API actions and widget functions. See API connections. |
| Deploy | Where customers reach the agent. See Deployments. |
| Settings | Name, model, instructions, training, and security. See Agent Settings. |
The Overview page
Overview is the agent’s home page. It shows:
- Deployments: which channels are on.
- Usage: conversations, messages, and positive and negative feedback.
- Recent activity: the latest conversations. Select View logs to see them all.
- Needs attention: feedback, knowledge sources, and tickets to review.
Delete an agent
Deleting an agent permanently removes it and everything that belongs to it, including its knowledge, conversations, and leads. It can’t be undone.
Open the danger zone
In the agent, go to Settings. Under Danger zone, select Delete Agent.
Confirm
Type Delete in the Confirmation field and confirm.
You can also delete an agent from the Agents page by selecting Delete next to it.
