Add Leads to Salesforce
Send the leads your agent collects to Salesforce automatically, and optionally log each conversation to the lead's activity.
The Salesforce: Add Lead action sends every lead your agent collects to Salesforce as a Lead. It runs wherever Collect Leads runs, so it has no channel settings of its own.
To add it, go to Build > Actions, select Create action, and choose Salesforce: Add Lead.
Sync
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Sync new leads | On | Create a Salesforce lead when your agent captures a new lead. |
| Sync updates | On | Update the Salesforce lead when the visitor adds details later in the conversation. |
| Overwrite existing leads | On | If a Salesforce lead with the same email already exists, update it. When off, existing leads are left as they are. |
Lead data
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Lead source | Chatvox | The value for the lead’s Lead Source field. |
| Company fallback | Unknown | Salesforce requires a company on every lead. This value is used when the visitor doesn’t give one. |
| Send phone | On | Include the phone number when the visitor gives one. |
| Send notes | On | Include notes the agent collected in the lead’s description. |
Conversation activity
Turn on Log conversations to keep a record of each conversation on its Salesforce lead.
- After 30 minutes without new messages, Chatvox writes an AI summary of the conversation (the visitor’s goal, key details, outcome, and next action) as a completed Task on the lead. Find it in the lead’s Activity panel under Past Activities.
- If the conversation continues later, the same task is updated.
- Only conversations where the agent captured a lead with an email address are logged. If the email belongs to an existing Salesforce Contact instead of a lead, the task is linked to that contact.
- Each summary uses a small amount of credits.
Good to know
- A lead is only sent once it has an email address.
- Leads are sent in the background, usually within a few seconds.
- If Salesforce rejects a lead (for example because of a required custom field in your org), it’s retried a few times and then skipped. Check that your Lead object doesn’t require fields Chatvox doesn’t send.
