Two-factor authentication

Protect your Chatvox account with a second sign-in step using an authenticator app on your phone.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step when you sign in: after your password, you enter a code from an authenticator app on your phone. Even if someone gets your password, they can’t sign in without your phone.

We recommend turning it on, especially for Owners and Admins.

Turn on 2FA

Get an authenticator app

Install an app that supports TOTP codes, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, or Authy.

Start setup

Open your account settings, select Two-Factor Auth, then select Enable 2FA.

Scan the QR code

Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, then enter the code it shows to confirm.

Save your recovery codes

Store your recovery codes somewhere safe, such as a password manager. You’ll need one if you lose your phone.

From now on, Chatvox asks for a code from the app each time you sign in.

If you leave setup before finishing, select Continue setup to pick up where you left off.

Turn off 2FA

Open Two-Factor Auth in your account settings and select Disable 2FA.

Lost your phone?

Sign in with one of your recovery codes instead of an app code. Then turn 2FA off and on again to set it up on your new phone.
