description: "Connect your Slack workspace to a Chatvox agent so it can post notifications to your channels."

Available on the **Starter** plan and above.
:::

Connect Slack so your agent can notify your team in a channel, for example about a new lead or a customer who needs help.

## Connect your workspace

1. **Open Integrations**

In your agent, go to **Build** > **Integrations**.

2. **Connect Slack**

Select **Connect** next to Slack. Slack opens and asks you to allow Chatvox to access your workspace.

3. **Allow access**

Choose your workspace and select **Allow**. You're returned to Chatvox, and Slack shows as **Connected**.

4. **Invite Chatvox to a channel**

In Slack, open the channel for notifications and type `/invite @Chatvox`.

You may need permission from your Slack workspace admin to add apps.

## What Chatvox can access

Chatvox asks for the smallest set of permissions it needs:

| Permission | Why |
| --- | --- |
| Send messages | To post notifications to channels it's been invited to. |
| View public channels | To list the channels you can choose from. |
| View private channels | To list private channels it's been invited to. |

Chatvox can't read the messages in your channels.

## Next step

[Configure notifications](/docs/integrations/slack/configuring-notifications) by adding the Slack Notification action.

## Disconnect Slack

In your agent, go to **Build** > **Integrations** and select **Disconnect** next to Slack. Slack notifications stop until you connect again. You can also remove the Chatvox app from Slack's app settings.
