**Web Search** lets your agent look things up on the web, for questions your [knowledge](/docs/knowledge) doesn't cover, such as recent news, current prices, or public facts that change.

The agent always checks your knowledge first. Each web search uses additional [credits](/docs/billing/understanding-credits).

To add it, go to **Build** > **Actions**, select **Create action**, and choose **Web Search**.

## When to use

Describe the questions that should send the agent to the web, for example:

> Search the web for recent news, current prices, or public facts that may have changed.

## Included domains

Leave this empty to search the whole web, or limit the search to specific sites. Enter one domain per line, up to 20. Subdomains are included.

Limiting the search to your own sites, or a few trusted ones, keeps answers on-brand and accurate.

## Answers

**Show source links** adds links to the pages the agent used at the end of answers that use web results.

## Channels

Web Search can run on the **Web widget**, **Public Chat**, and **WhatsApp**. It doesn't run in [API conversations](/docs/developers/agents-and-chat). See [Where actions run](/docs/actions#where-actions-run).
